Redeemed From Poverty - According to Galatians 3:13-14, poverty, sickness and death are curses, the result of Adam’s failure to obey God’s Word. Because Christ has redeemed us, we are no longer under the curse of the law. But God doesn’t control whether we live in poverty, we control it. It was not the decreed will of God for His people to be poor. However, God will let you be poor if you let you be poor. Many Christians accept poverty because they believe that’s just the way they should live. The scriptures clearly state that Jesus and the disciples were not poor. Jesus had more than enough to give to the poor and take care of the disciples during his three years of ministry. As believers, we need to follow the example of our Lord and not allow the cares of this world to dictate to us the way a believer should live out his or her Christian life.

Redeemed from Sickness - Galatians 3:13-14 informs us that Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, but that does not mean that sickness will not try to take hold of us. Sickness is a curse of the broken law of God. If God did not want His children to be sick under the Old Covenant, He certainly does not want His children to be sick under the New Covenant, which is a better covenant. Satan doesn't have the right to put sickness and disease on the believer, but he will if you don't know your rights.

Redeemed from Death - The first curse that came onto man after breaking God’s law was the curse of death. It was never in God’s plan for man to die. However, Genesis. 2:16-17 clearly states that if Adam trespassed God’s commandment not to eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, that he would surely die. When Adam ate, spiritual death was instantaneous. Physical death became progressive and imminent. Death is an enemy, and is the last enemy that will be destroyed (I Corinthians 15:20-24). But as a child of God, you can choose when you die. You are no longer a victim because Christ has redeemed you from the curse of the law (Galatians 3:13-14) and abolished the power of death over you (Hebrews 2:9-15).
